Dear Blog Reader,

About 8 months ago we made this blog and I have to say since then I and my partner Cameron Dewell have defiantly had a great experience with it and great progression. Our blog topic was television reviews on the show walking dead.
About half way through we decided writing about one show wasn’t any fun so we switched our topic about a larger variety similar to television. Not just one specific TV show. We later did books reviews and poems of TV and we realized how much better this topic was instead of just a bunch of posts about the same thing.

Through the course of this year id have to say this blog has defiantly taught me a lot. Before even making any posts of knowing the topic of my blog we had to learn how to make a website which was extremely helpful for later in life and looks good on resumes. This blog has also brought my writing skills up tenfold with all the different genres of writing we had to do. I also feel like through this blog I have learned team work and partnership. Me and my colleague Cameron would butt heads and disagree on a lot but in the end we both found an agreement on what we wanted to write about.

I’d have to say, I couldn’t imagine making a blog in my life. I just felt blogs were all about gossip but now that we’ve had this assignment for so long I now realize it’s so much more than that. Just through this blog I’ve learned whatever a book assignment could teach me and so much more. I feel like this whole class making blogs we all have the same knowledge because we all had to go on each other’s blogs and read some posts and it’s cool to learn what other people know and its cool having other people learn from me. That’s the way I look at it.

Since we started these blogs we had some assignments that were just too hard to comprehend but after doing it multiple times it’s just too easy now. I had to do a couple book reviews and you can see the improvement. Here is my first book review Walking Dead comic’s book review compared to my most recent book review Marvel Universe book review. I don’t know if you can see the difference but I feel like there is a huge improvement from my first book review to my last book review. I also improved on writing poetry. At first I couldn’t think of any ideas but once I got it down I was a natural. This is my first poem TV is my life and this is my last poem Sitting on my couch. My poems got longer and I actually took more time on them and thought about it.

I’d never thought I was say this because I the beginning I wasn’t really with it but this blog assignment was probably one of the coolest assignments I had all throughout high school. With all the information I gave you I think you can tell I liked it and I improved so much on my writing in such a fun and cool way. It makes you feel good about yourself when you learn something new and I got to learn it all through the most effective way I feel like.

Blog Presentation

Dear blog reader,

Since October, I have been creating this blog. My partner Zach Bluhm and I have been making blog posts consistently over the school year. These posts all have to do with our blog topic, television. Our topic of choice for this blog was television.
In the beginning, our blog was solely about television review. Since then, it has prospered into more than that. We have blog posts about television reviews, poems, television services reviews, and many other things. Originally, we started reviewing the first season of The Walking Dead. In my first review, I go over Episode 1 of Season 1. We since then have posted our reviews for the show on our blog page.

Throughout the year, this blog has made me learn many things. Personally, I never had any interest in blogs or blogging. I thought I would never create a blog in my life. This changed my mind. Creating a blog opened a whole new part of the internet that I have never seen.  Having my own webpage that the world is able to see was defiantly something I enjoyed. I am able to see how many people view the page every day. It shows me where these people are from and what country’s you have the most views in. This was an eye opener to me, as I am someone who uses the internet daily.

This blog has helped me become a better writer over the year. Almost every week, we added some kind of blog post. These posts included reviews, creative writing, responses, and many other posts. Updating our content weekly helped broaden our knowledge, and keep readers entertained. Constantly creating new material and new posts kept me busy throughout the year. Things such as SSR’s (Self-Selective Responses) which I have never heard of before showed me new ways to write. I believe that my recent book reviews compared to previous ones, show much improvement. C.D.

SSR

In the New York Times article,"Amazon Channels a Cheaper Television Experience" by David Streitfeld, he argues that Amazon's services offer a cheaper alternative to regular TV. Amazon is now offering its new Fire TV set-top box. This may or may not be the answer to cheaper television. With this box, it is stated that you can watch what you want, when you want. Normally, you are paying 80 dollars a month for 500 channels that normally have nothing on. On demand television, letting you watch what your interested in. As it looks, Amazon hopes to take over the television world. This TV service does look very promising but only time will tell. C.D.

Marvel Universe Review

Peter Sanderson's, Marvel Universe (1996), covers everything you need to or want to know about Marvel Comics as well as every superhero/super villain Marvel has introduced over the years and since it started in 1961 by creator Stan Lee. Sanderson backs his claim by showing multiple images from some of the very first comics and he broke up into sections into the most common super heroes to some of the less heard of super heroes. Sanderson's main purpose of this book is to show how far Marvel has gone since since Stan Lee first started making comics. Given the format of the book i can tell it is intended for a more older audience.

One thing i really enjoyed about this book is how well put together they made it. When they would explain a hero, they explain everything about them like who they're enemies are and how they become a super human. It goes over everything you want to know and everything you need to know which is another reason i find it informational for my blog and what i'm gonna do next on it.

On the other hand they are things they could have done better with it such as putting it in order to when the first appearance of the first super heroes to the newest super heroes. They kind of scatter it around in that category. other than that i don't see much wrong with it. I find it to be a very interesting book i cant find much wrong with it. Its great.

So as you can i see i highly recommend this book to anybody who has a liking in super heroes and wanting to learn more or just to refresh your memory with these comics and super heroes and super villains. I'm Zack Bluhm and i approve this message. Z.B.

Digital Video for Dummies.. My Review

Published in 2001,"Digital Video for Dummies," was created by Martin Doucette. He explains the basic steps required to understand and work with digital video. The author gives numbered steps to guide you through digital video. Written for anyone wanting to know more about digital video.

I like how this book has a large table of contents. All the sections of the book are put into parts and chapters. This allows ease with finding what you want to read. Without it, this book would be very hard to navigate through. Digital video can be complex and challenging to understand, and this book helps make us comprehend the art of digital video.

The "For Dummies.." books have never been a favorite of mine. I often find them outdated and useless. The internet is much easier to use and quicker to find what you want to learn. With this book, it is an exception. It is very easy to understand and can navigated through quickly.

Overall, I would recommend this book to a friend. It acts as a guide to help teach its readers. Anyone that wants to learn or know more about digital video should check this out. C.D.

Poem

TV is good, everything else is bad. If I didn't have any TV, I would be sad. I watch TV, almost every single day. If my house didn't have TV, Id have no reason to stay. C.D.
